I t is a great privilege and delight for me as well as an honor and
a challenge to write a foreword to this book on birth, death, life,

I have known Gladys McGarey for thirty years. Since
I have specialized in the ending of the physical existence and
she has become an expert in the beginnings of this physical life,
we formed an immediate affinity to each other and discovered
that both of us, although in a different language perhaps,
talked about the same experiences. Since birth is a transition
from the spiritual existence to the physical world, so is death a
step out of the physical world and a re-entry into the spiritual
realm of which we are just beginning to know more and more.
This book begins with an explanation of our inability to have
any recall whence we came and describes it in a form of an angel of
forgetfulness, who gently touches us the moment we decide to begin
life again. And life naturally begins when the soul, the entity, enters
the physical body to start a new existence in the physical world. We are here to grow, to learn, to have all the positive experiences that
the physical world can offer. And when we have passed all the tests,
we are allowed to graduate and return back to our original home.

As often as possible, I have quoted the stories as they were written for me by the individuals experiencing the events. Other stories are in my own words, as nearly as I could remember them as they were told to me. And the remainder of the tales told are from my own experience in the area of delivering babies into the world and taking care of people and their problems in the course of my practice of medicine. About the Author
Dr. Gladys (Taylor McGarey) M.D,M.D.(H), is internationally known for her pioneering work in holistic medicine, natural birthing and the physician-patient partnership. A founding member and past president of the American Holistic Medical Association, she also serves on a research committee of the Office of Alternative Medicine, and the National Institutes of Health. Dr. McGarey is a member of the International Advisory Board for the recently formed Institute for Natural Healing. Her work, through the Gladys Taylor McGarey Medical Foundation has helped to expand the knowledge and application of holistic principles through scientific research and education. Dr. McGarey is past president of the Arizona Board of Homeopathic Medical Examiners, and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Holistic Medicine. She is on the Advisory Board of Arizona State University East

A Refreshing New/Old outlook on childbirth!

I read this book a while ago. I read alot and especially on spiritual topics. I had read Children's Past Lives a long time ago and then I just read Return From Heaven - both by Carol Bowman and she had mentioned this doctor and her book.
It is a wonderful book! Gladys McGarey doesn't condone abortion but is sensitive to a women's feelings on the subject and has different ideas to consider. I remember wishing that I had read this book before I had my abortion many years ago. Talking to your baby's spirit is such a beautiful idea! And perhaps I would have gone a different path with more insight!
Gladys McGarey's experiences through her practice shed a whole new light on a very tender subject - abortion. This was not the only thing that she writes about in her book. Her whole spiritually on children is a very positive read!
I will loan out my copy to my friends and family who are having a baby. I believe her ideas round out other ideas nicely.

Beautiful and Fascinating

A great book for the open minded. To me, the stories in this book affirm the divine order of the circle of life and death. Positive food for comfort and positive thought for those who have experienced miscarriages or wonder if an abortion is the right choice to make. I consider myself very fortunate to have met the author and to have been a guest in her beautiful home. She is truly a great and gracious woman and healer.

Authentic and enlightening

The author has had a wealth of experience in her many years of practicing medicine.
I am a huge Edgar Cayce fan and this doctor has integrity and determination to live and practice godly principles to stay true to herself and to God, having great respect and reference for life!
I would recommend the book to anyone ~ especially young parents , actually anyone!
